Back then, I used to talk a lot with a friend who was really into Undertale and fangames, he followed the fandom closely and consumed a lot of it. One day, when I was at his place, he told me that Toby Fox was apparently working on an “Undertale 2” with a strange name, and that it was supposed to be released soon. He showed me some videos discussing the topic, and then a few images that were supposedly from that “Undertale 2.”

The one I remember most (or think I remember) showed what looked like the bottom of a deep, obscure pit, full of rocky structures, with light shining down on the scene the protagonist, and a wall with a very detailed Delta Rune carved into the stone.

As for the character, I recall it looked like Frisk, but taller, and with more blue-toned clothes. I’m not sure if it was Kris, a teenager Frisk or other character.

I don’t know if the image was actually from Deltarune, a fake leak, an image from a fangame inspired by Deltarune (I don’t even know if there was any official visual content before the game came out), or maybe a teaser from an Undertale fangame titled “Undertale 2” that used the Delta Rune as its main focus. Or maybe the image never existed at all and I’m just having some kind of weird Mandela Effect.

I remembered all this while playing Chapter 4 of Deltarune the visuals in this chapter are noticeably more detailed than in the earlier ones, and something about that reminded me of the image.
