Welcome back nerds, bit of a short one this time but we're approaching the end of what we consider is a 'demo' of sorts. There was an idea to make story updates a thing, but those got canned. This will now be an official demo.
Right, onto some actual development stuff. Story/lore wise, there's been a few changes that take more of an emotional approach rather than going down the 'everyone is FUCKING DYING' path. Don't wanna make it too much of a pseudo-genocide type story, so there's been some rearrangements. That's all I'm allowed to talk about story wise right now.
Now for the game itself. Here's a first look at the current Main Menu. It may not be much, and is subject to change, but for now this is what you get. I find it pretty neat personally.

We have also updated the overworld to be a lot more appealing - along with new character sprites. Cherryside now has ambient lighting, as well as as a cool interactable bench (this was very important):

(chione has a sitting animation that can be triggered anywhere isn't that cool)
Waterfall was also updated - parts of it are still subject to change.

We've also done the same for the current battles. Here's the Sans/Flowey battle look to give you an impression:

Finally, there's one new track that we've all managed to finish. Remember Floral Fracture? That old Glacial Asperity track that everyone seemed to love for some reason? We've remade it in it's entirety while also keeping elements that made it the song it is. You can listen to it on the SoundCloud page below:

__b here, uh
there's also some additional content not shown yet, mainly a waterfall cutscene and coding progress
here's some story panel preview tho - more might come as previews later on

Okay, back to Zuph/Lucana.
The demo is nearing completion. The only notable things that need doing currently are writing in regards to the two encounters seen in the demo, and quite a bit of story panel art (there's a LOT of writing for those, to compensate for the lack of overworld/full game stuff). There's also a small amount of attack patterns that need tuning.
We hope you enjoyed this devlog! There may only be shorter ones from here on in regards to the demo, but that's only because we've shown off most of what you'll see for the eventual release. Taking your time does wonders, huh?
Thanks for sticking with us for so long. It means a lot to us. That being said, this is Lucana/Zuphra, signing off. Stay chill.
