If the source code does not use proprietary content, I will make it freely available and open source under a GPL license like Blender, which could be useful for greater compatibility.
However, if the source code contains proprietary code, I will completely rewrite those parts of the source code to create a version that I can legally publish under a GPL license.
The new version of Anim8or will now be called Open8or, (something like that)
a tribute to the Toonz software, which became open source and was therefore renamed OpenToonz.
Would the software be updated with new rendering? The reason is no, but the aesthetics of the latest available version of Anim8or have been improved & bugs fixeds, so in 2017, if possible, try to make the Anim8or mascot under the CC BY license. -SA 4.0 license, which would be free but would require derivative works to be under the same license, thus making them free as well, a bit like GPL licenses but adapted for everything that is not code, such as images, 3D models, etc.
