As those of you who have been following Unity Cubes development may know it has been quite a while since the game has received any updates or posts. This is due to a sheer lack of motivation and burnout however, I am happy to announce that not only is Unity Cube back in development but that the entire project as a whole is getting a facelift and some much-needed changes.
The Original Unity Cube was in essence a level-based runner game where the difficulty would increase each level and used only each level's scenery to tell the game's story.
The new version of Unity Cube I will be working on will also contain levels and interesting scenery that conveys some story elements but the majority of storytelling will be through more obvious methods (more on that in later posts) however the game's levels and story will be relegated to a campaign mode. That's right there will be far more to Unity Cube than just its campaign and whilst im not in a position to go too far depth i can tell you that cooperative play and multiplayer elements will play a big role in the future.
Whilst i work on this new version of Unity Cube i intend to keep the last published demo of the original game up indefinitely for the foreseeable future sort of as something i can look back on. I also intend on publishing an alpha build of only the games Endless mode in the near future with the goal of garnering player feedback with semi regular updates following
Other game modes may also follow this independent alpha release format.
I have no release date currently for the game but expect a full release sometime between 2024/2025
There are more new features that i am not in a position to elaborate on but i can however layout the general idea of Unity Cube in a few bullet points.
