So if you know anything about me, I'm a big fan of the Doom series. Many other fans of the series absolutely hate this movie for a few reasons that I think are unnecessary.

Most people describe the Doom series as being "Action only", and that it's all about running and gunning demons with some heavy metal blasting, but I disagree. Every Doom game does have horror elements, and there have been 3 games where it went mostly into horror. Those 3 being Doom PSX, Doom 64, and Doom 3. D3 failed miserably but PSX and 64 perfected it. This film was around the time when the series was going into horror, which included the 3 games I mentioned, so it also did the same, being based on Doom 3.

Non-Doom fans wouldn't be familiar with the horror games, and are also the people who would think that Doom is just about the action.

And now I'm going to debunk some BS claims that are just misinformation

-The movie is just zombies and no demons

I never understood why everyone was so outraged by the movie having zombies in it at all, literally every single Doom game is filled to the brim with zombies, so this movie doing the same makes sense. And there is a decent number of appearances of demons, including Imps, Hell Knights, the Pinky, and as well as some others that are unique to the film. The series is most known for the demons which is why people point to this specifically

-The movie has no action

Again, Doom isn't always about the action and does go with some atmosphere. But this movie has plenty of action. You've got a good number of demon/zombie fights with that banging metal soundtrack which is what the series is known for, and a pretty damn good soundtrack at that. Especially some scenes that go all out on action like one of the Hell Knight fights plus the scene that turns the film to an FPS prospective.

-"Bio Force Gun"

People were mad that the BFG stood for "Bio Force Gun" instead of the classic "Big Fucking Gun" on one of the lab monitors, which is such a tiny little detail that really doesn't matter. Plus not even a full minute later, Sarge calls it the big fucking gun right there, so it's literally still there. Nostalgia Critic went on about them calling it wrong for a whole minute and tried to convince the audience to think that the movie didn't name it right, when it literally did.

Point is, the Doom movie is a great watch if you're a fan of the series, and Nostalgia Critic's review left out so much of the movie that makes it look bad.

Now Doom Annihilation on the other hand, THAT movie is some dog shit, but this one from 2005 is now considered as the "Better" Doom movie, because most of the fanbase trashed the film back then but they gained respect for the first one after seeing Annihilation, but still don't think it's very good as a Doom film, which I disagree.
