POPGOES Evergreen just hit 14,000 followers! So, as promised, I'm revealing some content for the upcoming paid expansion to POPGOES Arcade.

It's called... POPGOES and The Machinist!

POPGOES and The Machinist is a "sequel" to POPGOES: The Dead Forest, which is the name of the arcade game that you play in POPGOES Arcade.

If you pay for the "premium" upgrade to POPGOES Arcade, you will be able to play POPGOES and The Machinist once you attain 100% completion in the main game. It'll be a direct continuation of your journey.

POPGOES and The Machinist is about half of the size of the current main game. If you consider POPGOES Arcade to be split into two parts, one where you fight the minibosses, and then one where you fight the dead minibosses, then you can sort of expect PATM to be a "third part" in Popgoes' adventure.

Our development team has been in a bit of a slump for the past few months, but lately Emil has been back to work and we've been working exclusively on POPGOES and The Machinist. A LOT of it has been finished, it's just mostly programming left now.

Q: When is this coming out?

A: We're not sure, but the goal is for it to release before the end of the year. Releasing paid content could be tricky however, so it may take longer.

Q: How much will this cost?

A: I have no idea! It's not something I'll be deciding on by myself.

Q: Why is this paid for?

A: All of the ports for the Fanverse games are paid for, and I decided to work on this expansion for Arcade to incentivise and reward people for paying for their mobile/console copies of POPGOES Arcade.

When I announced this, I got a lot of requests for a PC version of the expansion (for those who don't play on consoles). So I spoke with Scott and Clickteam and it seems to be possible!

Q: Where can we play this?

A: When everything is finished, we're going to see if we can publish POPGOES Arcade (the original version) on Steam, which will then have the "premium upgrade" (which includes POPGOES and The Machinist) as a paid DLC option on the store page. The mobile and console ports of POPGOES Arcade might have actual payments integrated into the game. We'll see!
