Hey all!
I know a bit of time has passed, but I have some important things to share.
I know the demo still isn't up yet, but hang in there! We're getting close, I definitely think the updated demo is worth waiting for. I'll be sharing some new info about it here as well.
Where have I been?
First things first: I've still been working on the game during my 'absence' and I've been looking at the critique and reviews the game's been getting.
I've heard people say I left due to criticism and that couldn't be further from the truth. I'm totally fine with it, it's a natural thing that happens when you make things.
The reason I left - as it turns out, launching things can be kind of stressful.
When I launched it I noticed the performance issues and that's why I swiftly took it down, but it turns out I ended up wanting to improve the game itself along with performance - so I decided it'd be best to have people wait just a little bit longer for a product I actually feel proud of.
I ended up going offline for a bit just to take a bit of a break and focus on the game, and I feel it's helped.
The 2.0 Demo
For this updated demo, I've been trying my best to find ways to improve the game and implement some changes to make it easier to understand & play.
Here are some of the changes I'm currently working on implementing:
Tutorial explaining the ladder section
Louder sound cues, where previously they were near silent
Faster walking between rooms
More in-depth tutorial, explaining how threats attack & how to avoid them
Tutorial progresses via right click and is no longer automatic, making it easier to read
Major balancing changes, lower AI values on Night 1 & 2
DX11 implementation for better performance
Removal of the 'keypad' screen on the computer
Major bug fixes (yeah, the lure freezing on night 2 wasn't intentional but it's fixed now)
A bit of extra polish
A 'staring indicator' that shows when a threat is looking at you, will be red or green depending if you need to look away or keep staring
Minimap that fades in upon moving between rooms
This demo will go through very extensive testing, and I'll take as much time as needed to make sure it is ready.
There will also be new cut-scenes for night 1 & 2 and music, so look forward to it!
On top of that, Tealer and Willow have gotten model and design revamps (which have been reflected in the thumbnail and header):

Hopefully there'll be more statuses to come! The new demo is getting close to being complete, and I'd like to thank everyone that is still looking forward to the game and for the feedback I've gotten.
I'll make sure the new demo is worth waiting for - from testing on my own end, it already feels a lot better to play the game with the changes listed.
It feels good to be back. See you again when the time comes!
