The 365 Indies Jam was a game jam for the community around the 365 Indies. These developers had 9 days to create a game around the theme “This Should Not Be Here”. There were many games entered in this jam, I recorded all of them in my video compilation series. Below are some of my favorites, in a random order.

What the Box? is an online stealth multplayer game about boxes! You are a box in a world full of boxes, trying to kill other boxes. You have a box knife and a gun to help assist you in killing all of these other boxes who appear in the area. It is quite easy to hide among the boxes, by not moving and blending into the crowd. There is a delivery truck and a whole load of display boxes at every angle to hide among. This wacky game is fun to play with your friends as you take them out or wait for the perfect time to attack! This game has been polished up and is now for sale over on Steam.

Onde está a minha SALADA is an adorable little game about a turnip collecting ingredents to make its salad taste better. This turnip only has a few different ingredients to collect, but each level requires perfectly timed jumps and precision to get to the food. There are loads of spikes and some platforms that bounce you high into the air. Spikes will kill you and cause you to restart the level, so you must be careful with your jumps. The game is short, but very nice looking and fun to play.

Knightvania a castlevania-styled game that has you trying to save the creatures in a strange dimension. You were a hero in your home world, so a desperate ghost has taken you from your home and brought you to its dimension with the hope that you will save them. With your large trusty sword, you must search around this world and defeat the enemies haunting it. You are able to save your game at ice cream cones - which you will need to do often - as if you get hit once you will have to restart. There are quite a few enemies in this world and leaving the area that they are in will cause them to respawn, even if you have killed them. As you explore the world you will find upgrades to your abilities, allowing you to get to new areas. There are also treasure chests with bonus secrets hidden around. This game is super challenging - with only one life - so you need to be a real hero to complete it!

CaTime is a challenging shooter that has you playing a cat in a world full of dogs. You have a gun that shoots fish, able to fire three times before needing to reload. You also have the ability to slow down time - something you will learn to depend on when it comes to enemies. When you explore this underground, platform filled land, you will find many enemies who will automatically shoot at you. Your best option is to slow down time and try to shoot them as soon as you see them. Bullets from both you and your enemy can clash, cancelling them out. There are a few checkpoints in each level to help you out, buttons that need to be pushed, and many, many spikes to avoid. Try to see how long you can last as a Cat Agent!

Super 365 Quest is a fast paced platformer that has you collecting capsules and bringing them to the teleportation device. Blue capsules will appear on the various platforms in this game. You will need to collect as many of these capsules as you can before bringing them to the teleportation platform at the bottom of the screen. Bringing more than one of these objects to the bottom will allow you to gain combos on the amount of points you have. You are missing 365 of these things, so you will probably be collecting for a while. Enemies also fall onto the platforms, attempting to run into you and kill you. You have a gun - that does need to charge up between many uses - to defend yourself. Over time, you will go up in level, causing new and bigger enemies to appear. It is up to you to retrieve all of the capsules! Good luck surviving.

Switch Girl is an adorable game about a girl who is trying to save her little blob friends by giving them kisses. A giant dome-like building has appeared in the sky causing your blob friends to turn hostile towards you. The only way to fix them is to blow them a kiss. This will transform them from the huge, angry creature they are to smaller, happier beings. You can also use your rainbow hula-a-hoop to change places with both hostile and happy creatures. This will allow you to get to new areas and further in the game. Hostile creatures will drop bombs on you and try to run into you - causing you damage - so be sure to change them back before going near them! You must go and talk to the boss of the blobs to find out what is going on and see if you can fix this strange world! Though this game is short, it does have a good sized area to explore and a boss level. I am hoping the developer will continue in the future!

Hyperdimensional Breakfast is a short but challenging platformer that has you seeing the world in a different way. You have gotten breakfast - the most important meal of the day - when suddenly you decided to put the bacon on your face. Thats right, you wanted to see the world through a perfect piece of bacon! Now that you can see the nice world, instead of the grubby one around you. You are drawn to the mysterious fried egg in the sky - a perfect piece to finish your breakfast off with. You must jump onto buildings, over windowsills, and across moving boxes to this fried egg. Some of these platforms are quite tricky, and it may take you a few times to get to the end, but seeing the world change around you and getting that egg is quite satisfying!

Little Miss Place is a charming platformer that has you playing a misplaced little girl. This girl finds herself in all sorts of strange areas - inside monsters and even inside machines! In this game you must explore around each area looking for misplaced objects that need removing. Once you find all three, you are able to exit the area and move on. There are lots of dangers in each of these areas - slime, electricity, fire - all must be avoided on your adventure. This game is quite simple, though sometimes getting to the right items can be a challenge. You must fix all of the misplaced things before going back where you belong.

Prisma Warp is a very well made shooter that has you destroying aliens out in outerspace! You are a space pilot who is looking to save the universe! In each level, you must kill loads of aliens that are coming towards you. You have two different types of bullets you can shoot - straight bullets that shoot fast and targeted bullets that seek out the nearest enemy but shoot a bit slower. You also have 3 bombs per level that will completely wipe out everything on the screen. Loads of different types of aliens will come towards you. Some shooting, others dashing at you. There are a couple of bullet-hell esque bosses that also are in this game! You must skillfully avoid their bullets while shooting them to death. This game has many super nice touches to it - like the pilot’s avatar, which looks around and blinks as you play. It is up to you to save the universe!

Hue Fell in Love is an adorable little platformer that has you trying to find your love! You are Hue, a person who has fallen deeply in love. The only issue is your love is from another dimension. Since she isn’t from this world, people are not happy about your love. They want to stop you, getting in your way and not letting you leave your dimension. You do not want to use violence, instead you try to confuse them with your dancing skills and slip past them! You are able to do this by dancing near them until they are confused, then quickly running by. There are a few different worlds you must dance through, but when you get to your love, everything will be worth it!

Duck Nukum is a super wacky shooter that has you shooting random objects out of your gun at other monsters! You are a duck who is looking to save your duck friends! Your friends have been captured by a variety of enemies, each with guns that have real bullets in it. Your gun however, only shoots bells, pugs, chairs, bullets, pillows, and other random objects. Sometimes these objects travel far, other times they fall to the ground and stack up. You can use these to your advantage if you are skilled enough. If not, you will die over and over, only to restart that level and try again. This game is very funny but quite challenging! Save all of your friends to become the ultimate badass!
