The Rocket Beans TV Community Game Jam was a game jam held by a German TV channel that streams video games on their channel. The theme of this jam was “Traces of Nuts”. There were quite a few games entered in this jam, I recorded all of them in my video compilation series. Below are some of my favorites, in no specific order.

Sir CrushAlot is a fast, trippy, and fun nut crushing game! You are highly allergic to nuts, but your father, the king, has forced you to go on a dangerous quest to crush all of the nuts in the castle. This was surely because of your huge teeth! These nuts will come flying at you, so you must time opening your mouth and closing it on each nut. If the nuts hit your face, you will gain a bump and be hurt. If the nuts go into your mouth, then you will go into shock - making the screen very colorful and wavy. These nuts will still keep coming, so make sure you crush as many as you can in the small amount of time you can put up with it. If you swallow too many nuts, you will die. This game is short, but quite challenging and fun!

In Den Klauen Der Veganesen is a silly, challenging game that has you trying to please the leader of the Veganese tribe. You have been captured by the tribe of Veganese. These people want to cook you in their stockpot! But you have convinced them that you are a good chef, capable of making an amazing three course meal for their leader. You are given an array of ingredients that you must put into bowls for each of the courses. Once you have your courses planned, the leader will try each dish. If the leader likes this dish, he might growl “Yum”, however, if he doesn’t like the dish, he will yell and grunt to show his dislike. You only have a few tries to get this dinner right, so make sure you listen to the noises the leader makes. If you make too many bad meals, you will surely be eaten!

The Legend of Studentenfutter is an adventure game that has you trying to find your lost nut friends in a squirrels cave. You are a peanut living with your friends in a bag of trail mix. You all lived in peace, until a squirrel came and ripped your friends from the bag. You were the only one left - so now you must embark on an epic quest to save your friends before it’s too late! This cave is dark and mysterious, but does present any dangers. There are crumbs dotted around and areas to explore to find you friends! As you wander around, you can munch on crumbs left behind to keep your cool. Your friends could be anywhere, so make sure you search thoroughly before moving onto a new area - there might not be a way back. You will talk to yourself as you walk through this cave, mentioning random things or telling stories, just to keep yourself company. Make your way through this cave and attempt to save your friends, unless it’s too late.

Nuts In Space has you defeating an army of nuts that have taken over the Bohniversum! These nuts are flying through outer space, shooting tons of bullets at you. You must dodge these bullets or destroy them by shooting them - you can also destroy the nut’s bullets as well. Soon, there will be tons of enemies in space, making it quite challenging to avoid the nuts. If you get hit, you will lose a life and receive a time penalty. As you continue on your mission, you will get gun upgrades, allowing you to shoot more effectively. At the end of this massive army is the leader of the the nuts - an acorn! You must shoot this acorn until it dies - avoiding the bullets it shoots and reflects. Enjoy this short but challenging space shooter full of nuts!

Nuckin’ Futs has you helping a flying - well, gliding - squirell collect all of his nuts. This puzzle adventure has you trying to find your way around areas to collect all of the nuts you can before going to the golden acorn. To see each level fully, you can rotate the whole world around, looking at it from different angles. Some levels have buttons or platforms you need to use to reach more nuts, while others are seemingly straightforward with hidden areas that you must discover. Sometimes, you must glide from higher up to get to lower areas. There are only a few levels in this game, so explore each one before moving onto the next! Collect all the nuts to ensure you will have a full belly!

NastyNutNouances is a beautifuly drawn game that has you taking revenge on the nuts! You came home one day and found that the nuts have poisoned your family, as all of you are allergic to them. You are now out to get revenge by cracking all of the nuts in the land and finding whoever was behind killing your loved ones. You must use your giant nutcracker to crack nuts that are in you way. After you have cracked the nut, you must wait a moment to make sure it’s completely cracked before running over it as you are allergic to them as well. If you get hit by a nut or walk over a dying one before it is dead, you will lose a life. There are Epi-pens scattered around each area to give you a life boost if needed. In this adventure you must try to make it to the person that caused your family this grievance. This isn’t an easy task - the deeper you go the more nuts are lurking. Some even explode if you touch them! Follow your gut and take revenge on these evil nuts before they kill you.
