Gum, a puzzle game where the main character is cursed, is a game about getting out of sticky situations. The player controls a gum person, someone who has been cursed with the ability to stick to everything that moves. Even with this curse, the gum person still wishes to adventure to lands far and wide, which would be an easy task for most normal people, however sticking to everything may cause some challenges.
The game is pretty simple to understand, the player needs to get to a set of stairs to pass the level. There may be holes in the floor, or blocks that the player can stick too, but the player must try and clear a path to the door. Sometimes, this means sticking to blocks to guide them into holes, thus filling the holes, so that the gum person can walk to the door. Other times it means working on finding a place one of the blocks can sort of fit into, so that the player can be free from the stick. It is pretty easy for a person made of gum to stick to blocks, they just have to be near them. The gum person can also get stuck to blocks on each side of their body, so at some stages, the player can find themselves blocked in.
This game is packed full of adventure with over 30 levels that get harder as the player beats them. These levels are also spread out in 8 different worlds, each with their own map. If the player chooses, they can even make up their own level designs to challenge their friends to beat. The graphics for this game are in black and white, and look very old school. It gives a nice feel to the game. The music is also very fitting and takes some of the rage out of a few of the harder levels. Try your luck getting out of this sticky situation.
