Just re-played Sonic Triple Trouble, so here's a whole reveiw on it ig.

Aight, so Sonic Triple Trouble, a game for the Sega Game gear released in 1994 and developed by aspect. It's concidered "the best Sonic game gear game", but I shall be the judge of that.

-----------

The story:

-----------

The story follows Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails in their efforts to stop others from obtaining the powerful Chaos Emeralds. Dr. Robotnik has tricked Knuckles the Echidna into helping his search; meanwhile, treasure hunter Nack the Weasel is also searching for the emeralds.

(took it from wiki cause I didn't feel like recapping it myself lol).

Not sure if this takes place before or after Sonic 3, if it was before it would cause plot-holes with the Death Egg, and if it was after that means that Knuckles got tricked again... even after all Robotnik has done... but Ig I'll leave it to y'all to figure it out. Apparently it's also the sequel to Sonic Chaos, another Sonic Game Gear game.

-----------

The gameplay:

-----------

Ima be honest, I wasn't used to those physics lol. It kinda felt like it was an attempt to make Sonic physics in Super Mario Bros almost, but atleast it's still decent.

The ring system doesn't rlly make sense tho, well, atleast to me. Apparently according to wiki, "When hit by an enemy, the player will lose 30 rings, or 50 if they touch a spike obstacle.", But I didn't even notice. You can barely see the HUD anyway since it's hidden behind the stage it's self wich is kinda annoying... I think the hud is also hidden durring boss fights wich I don't rlly like either.

-----------

Length and difficulty:

-----------

Not rlly that hard... I've been playing so much of the genesis games and mania and even fangames till the point that this didn't rlly seem like much. Tho I did have to use the re-wind feature on my Sega Genesis Flashback HD at times, btu that's mostly cause I'm not that good at platforming with those physics (and I kinda suck at the game lol). But as for length, there's only I think 6 levels and they aren't even THAT long or challenging. It litterally only took like 1 hour or even less to complete the whole game, and that was without getting the emeralds. I almost thought Tidal Plant and Atomic Destroyer kinda dragged out but it really didn't and again, it was just my skill that "dragged it out". But hey, it's the Game Gear. It has limits after all. But the Atomic Destroyer pipe maze kinda got old after a while.

-----------

The boss fights:

-----------

They're boss fights.... Not much to say about them, They're kinda easy ngl. But there's one cool boss tho. Spoilers for the end of the game in-coming:

There's a Metal Sonic boss fight at Atomic Destroyer, and it isn't even a race, you actually FIGHT him too, so that's pretty epic!

You also fight Fang/Nack in the special stages too, but I never got to do that sadly...

-----------

The soundtrack

-----------

It's 8-bit, but it's really catchy for 8-bit too! Now, I'm not much of an 8-bit soundtrack kinda guy. I'm more 16-bit myself, but as I said before, it's really catchy! Bridge capper's remixes and the Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit soundtrack REALLY do it justice and sound amazing! You should really check em out.

-----------

The special stages:

-----------

The special stage actually has 2 phases this time around. I don't wanna spoil em, and I haven't got to play them myself, but if you wanna see them for myself, but if you wanna see, then here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOExlBV9qt8 the two phases are showcased in this video.

-----------

The summary:

-----------

Welp, it was a short experience, but it was fun tbh. For a Game Gear game, it was actually kinda decent and I don't even have any nit-picks about it either. I really can't wait for the 16-bit remake being made by @NoahNCopeland to be completed! You can find the game page for it here at https://gamejolt.com/games/sonictripletrouble16bit/322794 and there's a demo that's downloadable too! Back on topic of the Game Gear version, would I recommend this game? Yea, if you can even find a Game Gear and a copy of the game somehow somewhere. It's prolly best to play it on a emulator cause of obvious reasons lol. My rating for this game would be 10/10. Welp, there's my gigantic reveiw for this game. Not sure if Ima play and reveiw Sonic Chaos tho. Thank y'all for reading this B I G post and listening to my Opinion!
