Happy Launch Day, everyone!
Today is the day that we are releasing Keep in Mind: Remastered. We hope you enjoy the game and we hope it sparks conversation about the heavier topics of depression, alcoholism, and grief that so many of us battle with every single day. Mental health is one of the most important factors in life. We hope that by telling this story we can help others open up about their own stories in order to foster a supportive community.
Keep in Mind: Remastered’s story is derived from the creators Ian Melinn and Cherylynn Lima’s own personal experiences with alcoholism and grief. The main character Jonas is inspired by both Ian and Cherylynn’s fathers, and the themes of the game from their own reflections on the experiences they’ve had. Since the release of the first rendition of Keep in Mind, many have been motivated by the games message to tell their own stories. We’ve seen players seek and give help to others, and we’ve seen them raise the discussion on self-love. Once again, we hope you enjoy the game, and we hope that you too will try to foster the light in your own life.
All of Akupara Games’ profits from Keep in Mind will be donated to Child’s Play, a charity which focuses on improving the lives of children in hospitals by providing toys and video games.
