The development of KIGAEA Tactics began on January 2nd, 2017.
During the month of December, after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, an IndieGoGo campaign was launched, in order to help fund the remainder of the development, in terms of artwork and the programming required (switching to full time, as opposed to working by availability).
The development of KIGAEA Tactics never relied on the success of the campaign. However, it is still disheartening to see such results.

The months without electricity really hindered progress in terms of marketing, and the lack of exposure has caused a great challenge for this campaign.
Also, it’s not everyday that a new genre emerges, or a new mechanic that adds a whole layer of never-before-seen potential. Communicating the attributes of such a project is even more challenging, when the artwork is not present in order to do so. The artwork is what conveys the intricacies of the underlying code, after all. Text just doesn’t cut it.
Needless to say, it has been a learning experience.
The updates on the campaign display the constant progress for KIGAEA Tactics. During the next months, the development will continue and more progress will be shown, as the updates and DevLog will now transition to Game Jolt.
If you are looking forward to KIGAEA Tactics, feel free to follow, so you can get the latest information on the development, as well as news on the Demo release, which is scheduled to be launched before Summer 2018!
