Here is the update to the plot to my game:
In a near future where the gulf stream has been disrupted; sea levels have risen to a considerably less desirable level; storms have become more and more frequent; and volcanos are exploding all over the bloody place. On an equally chaotic yet entirely unrelated eventuality of the near future, a really big meteor has broken up over Russia… again! In such a time, what is one to do to survive!? There is only one way to escape almost certain nautical peril at the hands of cosmological chaos… Quickly!, everyone!, onto the Ekranoplan!
Pilot a high speed Ekranoplan across a lovely WebGL sea and try not to be killed to death by meteor and/or your inability to adequately pilot a high speed Ekranoplan that is evidently due some maintenance.
In other news:
I’ve finished the main controls and in theory it should be playable using touch input but I have no touch devices to test with, so it may go horribly wrong if anyone were to try.
Graphics are improved with better looking flaming balls of fire and smokey trails, water and splashes are good enough I think. I still need to get round to tidying up the backdrop scrolling mountains.
Core gameplay mechanics are fully functional with meteors falling from the sky as intended and damage to ship hull determined as a function of the animation frame of the water shockwave when it hits your ship i.e - direct hit and you’re screwed, nearby impact and you’re hurt but ok.
Hopefully I can have a playable version uploaded tomorrow.
