Learning RPG Maker 2003 Devlog! (6/11/25)

Yes, you read that correctly. I’m starting to learn RPG Maker 2003! It’s fun so far.

As of right now, I’ve been able to make transitions, make a working chest, an item shop and some sort of inn. I still need to work on stuff like magic and whatnot, but I am making some good progress. ChatGPT has also been incredibly helpful for most of this.

(Unrelated note, today and yesterday made me feel emotional for an idea I’ve had for an achievement.)

I hope to be able to make some pretty good maps and layouts as well. Right now I have a test map for all of these little lessons.

As for animations, I have to figure that out as well. I have access to sheets, it’s just that I have to meticulously plot one pixel at a time. Hopefully I will be able to share some more progress.

In addition, I am also starting an enemy spreadsheet. I know, I know, I should focus on finishing one spreadsheet before the next, but I wanted to start one.

TLDR, I’m learning RPG Maker 2003, can do some stuff right now in the engine, and have done a few more things.

Devlog (1/25/2026): Testing Parries

Made a new OC for the game, what do I name her? The names on the right were names I thought of. Does anyone have other ideas? Or like a name on the list?

Updated the game page to show RPG Maker MV instead of 2003. Also, trying out spells. Thoughts?

Every RPG has a forest, right?

Hi all! Development’s been a little slow (especially because I have been really busy) but I decided to remake the battle win theme from scratch.

Made in BeepBox :)

What do you all think?

Woah? Some gameplay for Fox Fighters?

Currently it’s just a bit of a walking simulator (and a short one at that) but I hope to eventually change that :P

Also, on another note… might redo the main theme. I just… don’t really like it now.

Hi everyone! Decided to redo the battle song for my game. How does it sound? What feedback do you have for me? :)

Concept title made by Chomper

The first inn is done! Mostly. Probably needs a track and some more stuff, but that’s done. Now I gotta do… everything else in the first town.

I also realized that if I’m bored, I can add random stuff because why not! As you might see.
