Development Update – March 25, 2025

Hello everyone,

We’re excited to share some progress on Sonic.EXE Scratch Edition Revival! Development has been going well, and we’re continuously working to improve and expand the game.

❌Gamepad Support Removal

Originally, we planned to add controller support using the Joypad Object, similar to Genesis Sonic Worlds (now Retro Sonic Fusion). However, some low-end computers were unable to maintain a stable 60 FPS, so we decided to remove it. As a result, this game will only support keyboard controls.

🚫Design Philosophy: No "Survival Route"

While we are introducing alternative routes to enhance replayability, we want to emphasize that we will not be implementing a "Survival Route" that deviates too much from the original concept. Our focus is on maintaining the core experience while offering new paths that expand upon the existing narrative without compromising its intended atmosphere.
