The search for the game continued, until someone on the forums posted a ROM of the game, they were completely anonymous and refused to disclose information regarding the company or anything else relating to the game's develop. Nonetheless though, I wanted to play the game and so I did.
The first thing I saw was the title screen, a completely bastardized version of Sonic Triple Trouble's title screen, albeit the Japanese version.
So.. as it turns out, this is actually a hack of Somari that tries to be a demake of Sonic Triple Trouble, though also featuring stages from Sonic Chaos for whatever reason. I'm pretty convinced the game has some kinda identity crisis. Despite all that, at least you get to play as either Sonic or Tails, just like in Triple Trouble.
Though I was disappointed by the lack of Mario in this game, this might just be another classic case of false advertising in a bootleg game. They really tried pulling us in by telling us "Hey, we've got Mario and Sonic in this game! Check it out!". Then again, that was stupid of me to even expect the bootleg game to live up to what it's claiming to be.
Regardless, I didn't get past Sleeping Egg and the game just crashed completely. It refused to load on my emulator and I tried reinstalling the ROM and playing it again but to no avail. Well that's just lame, I really wanted to see more of the game! The game probably has some kind of copy protection that prevents the player from completing the game past the 3rd Zone.
If I had to guess, I'll probably have to actually find an original copy of the game for the Famicom and play the game from there, though with how scarce the game is, I'll probably never even find a copy! Welp, guess I better get to searching, though it's gonna take a while.. Adios amigo!
