what you can do with your egg shells instead of throwing them away what you could do is crush it into a small shards and sprinkle it into your plant pot circling your plant like in the example photo

I’m currently growing corn in my hydroponic set up

Hot weather is really starting to hit, you bet I'll just stick inside a cooler box :P
