What if Minecraft Villagers obtained MORE professions? Me and my bro have come up with potentially peak ideas that def would be awesome if they existed in Minecraft. Sure some of these seem far fetched but all is purely speculative ideas.
Miner/Prospector - This profession would have a prospecting table as the block for it. The Miner/Prospector would give you emeralds for raw ores like iron, copper, and gold. Perhaps this villager would even give you torches, minecarts (ordinary and with a block in them), and other things mining related. This villager would possibly have its own Prospecting Building where it would do its business. For the Prospecting Table, I think it could have a pickaxe and magnifying glass on the sides, and other tools for inspecting valuables found in the mines. On the top of it there would be little gold or iron nuggets on it.
Quarryman - Although unlikely because of the existence of the Mason, the Quarryman would have rock based trades, taking things like diorite, andesite, stone/cobblestone, granite, calcite, and other rock blocks for emeralds. I don't think it would give you polished blocks but it's still a cool idea for adding more diversity to the workforce. The Quarryman would have his own building, designed for stonework and stuff like that. I don't know if there would be a pre-generated quarry with this but who knows.
Carpenter/Woodworker/Lumberjack - It could potentially separate or the same thing. If separate, a carpenter/woodworker would sell you wood based things like signs, fences, fence gates, stairs, shelves, etc. Although pointless, it would be cool. The Lumberjack would probably be pointless to have separate but if it was, the Lumberjack would give you saplings, take/give logs, and more. There would probably be a woodwork table for the profession. The wood villager would have some kind of Wood Shop
Author - You would be able to give him a book and quill for emeralds, and in his second level, he could give you a random or pre generated written book. You could then use this to help fill up your library that you built so that it isn't so empty on the inside. It may be a bit difficult but it could be cool. It'd be a nice idea. An Author Villager would likely have some sort of Writing Workshop/Author's Desk as a profession block, not a Lectern because that unfortunately goes to the librarian. He'd probably share the building with the Librarian, on the second floor.
Construction Worker - This one is a bit difficult BUT it could be cool. A construction worker could sell you construction blocks like scaffolding, ladders, signs, and other things. It's a lot harder to think of this since so many other professions already work with blocks you'd likely use for construction. I am not sure what block would be created for the profession but perhaps some sort of workbench.
Potter - It is as it sounds. I'm guessing its less likely to happen, but a potter villager would sell you flower pots, decorated pots (randomized patterns perhaps), and pottery shards. It has some flaws, I imagine, but it's still cool. I don't know what a potter uses to make pottery, but there'd obviously be some station block a villager would have for it.
Florist - This is something I really think would be nice to have in Minecraft. No one really sells flowers besides the Wandering Trader. There is also, of course, the struggle in finding certain flowers, especially depending on how your luck is with some seeds. Some biomes you won't find for a while, and you desire specific flowers. The Florist Villager would have the stuff for you! You'd be able to purchase flowers from them and make your house pretty and whatnot. Although tbf you could also probably sell flowers to it for emeralds. I don't know, man I'm just imagining things. Profession Block? Simple Flower Bench. The Florist Villager would likely have a floral Workshop with multiple flower pots and stuff
Redstoner/Electrician? - I debate calling this an electrician or not, but anyways, as you can tell, this villager would work in redstone, giving you redstone blocks, repeaters, torches, and all that nonsense, redstone rails, and whatever the thing opposite of repeaters is, etc. This villager may not be very important to some, but any redstone builders may see it as valuable. Idfk what they would use as a profession block. They'd probably have some weird electrician house or something.
Rancher - This is probably unlikely, but perhaps a Rancher Villager would deal with Milk Buckets, Eggs, Wool (unlikely because of the Shepherd), etc. It'd be cool to have but I imagine it's less likely to be logical for a village. Obviously this villager would live in a farmhouse, with a small pen with Farms animals.
Beekeeper - Now this one is quite interesting and I think quite possible for it to exist in the future. The Beekeeper Villager would involve trading honey bottles, Honeycomb, Bee Hive/Nest (likely hive and not the natural spawning nest), and other stuff, maybe a couple flowers for the Bees. They'd have a beekeeping house of sorts with hives inside a glass room with flowers and stuff. It would be peak to have a beekeeping hive. This villager would wear a beesuit because peak.
Vexillographer (Debatable) - a Vexillographer is someone who indulges in the art and practice of making flags. Basically this would be a banner villager. Probably rather pointless but hey, it's somethin. Perhaps the Vexillographer Villager would take blank banners for emeralds, and give you pre-generated decorated banners for emeralds. Peak?
Chemist/Wizard (Debatable) - I honestly don't think this is very plausible, but it's still an idea. Basically this would sort of be a second cleric. Except instead of giving you ingredients FOR potions, it actually gives you potions. This isn't very important so let's move on.
Hunter/Monster Hunter - The Hunter or Monster Hunter would trade you things like raw meat and other natural resources you may get while hunting animals. A monster hunter would do more. They would give you things like spider eyes, rotten flesh, bones, and more. They would most likely utilize crossbows and go out to hunt monsters at night. The (Monster?) Hunter would utilize a Hunter’s Workshop Desk as the profession block.
Warrior - The Warrior Villager would not do trading. Instead, it would serve as a faster but weaker infantry for the village, assisting Iron Golems at night to protect the village. They would have a lot more health and deal a lot of damage, weapons varying from swords to axes, spears, tridents, and bows. The Warrior Villager would likely either live in some sort of Barracks building or
Resin Collector/Tar Burner - This villager would have resin based trades (would probably exist mainly in a Pale Oak Village if there ever was to be one in the future. I don't know what all could be applied now, but in the future if more resin objects come into existence, this Resin Villager could be cool.
Mycologist - A Mycologist is someone who studies and deals with fungi. A Mycologist Villager would involve trades of, of course, Red and brown mushrooms. Maybe even warped/Crimson Fungi but who knows. I am not sure what kind of building a Mycologist would work in but let's move on.
Glassmaker - This shouldn't be too hard to describe or understand. A Glassmaker villager would work with glass. You could give sand for emeralds, pay emeralds for things like glass blocks, panes, bottles, whatever else is made of glass in Minecraft. Idk where the villager would live/work but it could be very peak.
Candlemaker - A Candlemaker villager would not be very special, just would indulge in using candles for trading (you'd probably give them wax or string, and be able to buy candles ofc). It's just a cool little idea.
Sandworker - A sandworker villager isn't all that special either. They would take regular sand for emeralds, and give you things like sandstone, chiseled sandstone, red sand stuff. Etc. It could be peak? It would likely spawn in a desert village most often because it makes sense.
Thank you for taking the time to let us cook. We probably had some bad ideas BUT WE HAD SOME DECENT ONES. Have a good day, civilians.
