An Englishman from a noble lineage, Grey (probably a pseudonym) is a former scout. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the British Army, selected for the SAS and after two tours left to spend five years in the French Foreign Legion.
A skilled soldier, he specializes in survival in extreme environments — a topic in which he is a sought-after instructor and the author of numerous reference works. His favorite anecdote: after a covert operation gone wrong in Nigeria, he turned up weeks later in the north of Libya after passing through the hottest black sand desert on Earth, alone and on foot. To survive, he had to eat his dog and dig tunnels 4 meters deep to find water.
