MEGA UPDATE EDDY


Hello everyone, I come with a mega update of the project, where I will comment on the new additions, changes, and answer the most frequently asked questions about the project, what is promised is debt!

DEVELOPING:

I feel that I must explain to you why in these last 2 years, the project has been quite slow and with a lot of lack of communication, and I really owe you a more detailed explanation of this:

In 2020, due to the pandemic, me and my modeler couldn't spend much time on the game, so development was slow. By early 2021, due to my modeler disappearing from the internet, and I wasn't starting to like the way this shit was going, the game had a full-blown reboot, and I started thinking of more interesting ideas to develop.

During 2021 and 2022 I was planning what the game would be, from the structure, the mechanics, the most effective ways to implement the ideas, among other things. All this has already been organized and planned, it only remains to develop the game completely

The game had its last alpha recently, where some point and click mechanics were tested that can be complex to configure. and now, the game will start with the beta phase, where I will start to develop what will be the final product

Something to note is that in a previous publication, it mentions about such an "eddy art book", this idea still stands, and everything developed in 2019-2021 will be included, (Don't let the name confuse you, it will be a PDF , not a real book, naming it like that sounds cooler lol).

What is EDDY?

Eddy, in a nutshell, is a game in the genre of surreal horror, puzzle, survival and point and click, with a mix of 2D and 3D.

What exactly is planned?

I will tell you a little about what is planned, so you can get an idea of ​​what the game will be like:

-The game is divided into stages

I really don't know how to explain this without getting into spoilers, so I'll go for the most superficial of this:

Stages is a way the game is divided (as if they were chapters), where the crazy worlds can be modified and altered the further you advance in the stages. Narratively this implies more things.

-Mix 2D and 3D

Visually, the game experiments a lot with different drawing styles, color palettes and the mix of 3D with 2D. This is somewhat difficult to explain in detail without showing concept art:

The textures of the 3D objects can vary, one can be cartoon style, others can be a simple color and others can be pixels (of the latter it should be noted that they are always textures with more details, but pixelated).

-How will the game be played?

The game will contain more ways to play apart from the classic fnaf point and click as mentioned above.

Something to note is that the game will have 3 types of levels, each one will have distinctive mechanics from the other.

I don't want to reveal too much here, but I will reveal concept art for one of these level types:

Expect sections where you can solve puzzles, collect things, and more.

When will a trailer or game be released?

As for a trailer, while I haven't given it much thought, and I'm not interested in making a typical nanosecond long teaser trailer, you can expect a trailer this year! When the game is well developed, I will consider making a trailer with gameplay (if there is a fangame event around that time, I will consider putting it there)

As for the full game release, I don't have an exact date, but if all goes well, expect a full game release in the first or second quarter of 2023.

Quite possibly there may be a delay, in any case I will be reporting it by those dates. I want Eddy to come out complete and flawless, so it will take as long as it takes.

Still, I'll try to be as communicative as possible, so expect mini post commenting or with gameplay screenshots in the near future.
