Two video game antagonists with magical abilities who are the first character the protagonist, who are not from their world (Frisk and Sonic) meet, and seem to befriend the character at first. However, either really early or later on in the game, they show their true colors and reveal themselves to be the major antagonist of their game. Both seeked the power of a powerful artifact (The scabbard of Excalibur and the Human SOULs), which was in the hand of the supposed big bad who is also a king (King Arthur and Asgore). They managed to get this artifact after the protagonists managed to defeat the kings, to which they use to become god-like beings and transform into a superior form (Dark Queen and Omega Flowey), and are hellbent on destroying the world, becoming the final boss of the game. After a certain event (Merlina learning of her world's fate and Asriel, Flowey's true identity, becoming, well, Flowey), they became pessimistic and had a negative look on life (Merlina growing sad, becoming a bit nihilistic, and Flowey not being able to feel any emotion leading to his famous "kill or be killed" motto). Even after they were defeated after backstabbing the protagonist, they were still spared and given another chance (Frisk sparing Flowey at the end of the Neutral route and to an extention forgiving Asriel in the Pacifist route, and Sonic giving Merlina wisdom to live life to her fullest, which made her outlook on life much better).
