Meta Quest headsets will no longer require a Facebook account

Starting next month, Meta Quest headsets will no longer require a Facebook account to be used. However, Meta's new "Meta Account" will be required to be created in order to use the headset. This means that users can finally unlink their Facebook accounts from their headsets without any issues. You can also add your Facebook and/or Instagram account to the same Accounts Center as your Meta account. This change will affect new and current headsets starting in August. Oculus profiles will be evolved to Meta Horizon profiles as well. Those who still use an Oculus account can continue using it until January 1st, 2023 as promised by Meta.

More details about the migration can be found here.
