2023: Moore coached one game for the Wolverines while head coach Jim Harbaugh was suspended for recruiting violations. He led Michigan to a 31-6 win over Bowling Green. He again coached, this time for Michigan’s last three regular season games, due to Jim Harbaugh being suspended for those games because of a sign stealing scandal. He led Michigan to a 24-15 win over #10 Penn State, a 31-24 win over Maryland, and a 30-24 win over #2 Ohio State. That season, Michigan won the Big 10 Championship and National Championship. He went 4-0 for the Wolverines that season.
2024: Moore was named the permanent head coach on January 24, 2024, after former head coach Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL. Led Michigan to an 8-5 record. Won the ReliaQuest Bowl 19-13 over #11 Alabama.
2025: Led Michigan to a 7-3 record and a #18 ranking in the CFP Poll to finish the regular season. In Michigan’s 2nd and 3rd games, Moore was suspended due to the sign stealing scandal. On December 10, 2025, Moore was fired by Michigan due to there being credible evidence that he was having an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. He was detained by police hours later. Moore had an overall record of 19-8 as head coach at Michigan, with a bowl appearance and bowl win.
