Story: Back in the early development of Mario Sunshine, the original concept for the villain was in a few ways a bizarro version of Mario called Moonlight, who would spread the night and darkness across the resort. Though when testing with audiences, many children were terrified of Moonlight’s design, which caused Nintendo to scrap Moonlight in favor of Shadow Mario.
