More details on the update.

I’ve been thinking of new mechanics for NSaF:R’s update, and I’ve come up with quite a lot of ideas. I haven’t decided which ideas will make it in and what I’ll leave out yet, but I can tell you that both the graphics and gameplay are getting huge changes.

In my previous devlog, I said I’d be adding NSaF 2’s characters, something that may change. There still is the possibility that I’ll add them, but I’ve already completely redone the Toys’ AI to be more aggressive and have thought of new mechanics for them, so adding NSaF: 2’s characters could be pointless or too difficult.

Regarding the music box, (a very much hated mechanic by me) I haven’t thought of too many things I could do with that. I need to keep it (this is a remake, not a completely different game) but I want it to serve a different purpose as to not be just another “wind-up the music box” game.

I know I said NSaF:R would have a “more ways to play” option instead of a custom night, but with the Toys’ AI having been totally redone, I now can add a functional custom night. I had an idea that I could just have the regular AI settings, but then another page full of other things that can be altered (like how long the night is, etc.), but whatever I do, I can tell you that the update will be unrecognizable to this; a completely different game.

Apparently the old MA2 models still work!

Happy New Deer!

To celebrate, we're replacing Scarlet!

Mary (x4)

Oh yeah. Living the dream.

Mary Christmas! Here's a huge devlog about Halo 2, Portal, and how those games changed how I chose to texture a wall.

Literally the only thing that carried over from my old way of doing things to my new way is Mary's eye texture. These two models are actually linking to the same iris texture under the highlights for the eyes. I thought that was kind of cool.

A bohrok just followed me.

I guess so.

Per my last post, here's what 17 extra hours of targeted work can change.

It's a cyclic process; long periods of virtually no change while you figure out what's wrong, then the breakthrough leads to rapid changes in hours.
