Phoenix used to be called simply #726. He used to have two other friends with him, both part of some under-wraps projects called PROJECT: Phoenix (or was it Firebird i kinda forgot) but they both died, not having passed the cruel tests of immortality all test subjects from the project were put under. Phoenix was the only one to have survived all the way to the last one, the guillotine. There came a day where Phoenix was so fed up with his life and everyone that tugged and slammed him through it, that all of that anger and resentment was converted into thermal energy strong enough to blow up the facility. Phoenix took that chance to flee, of course. And for a while he was stuck in some forest, lost and just going where he felt, desperately trying to find any way to keep living on in the wild.

Turns out not every subject from PROJECT: Phoenix/Firebird had died out, because out in the forest he found a boy who was almost similar to him.

#122, simply known as Crow, was a failed test subject produced from that project. Despite being from the same project, the same facility— the two were practically strangers. Crow was thrown out after being an immediate failure, too soon to be able to meet Phoenix within the confines of their sterile prison. Crow was just a regular boy with the wings of a crow, wide grand things, soft ink-black feathers the color of his hair. Crow’s just been living in the forest, finding it easier to live and stay hidden from the scientists from the facility he fled.

Crow offers to help Phoenix after Phoenix explained what happened, where he came from, and how he escaped. Impressed, he gladly takes the boy under his wing, nicknaming him after what the project was named.

Anywho Phoenix looks up to Crow and sees him as a role model, a kind of older brother figure. He tries really hard to be as cool as he sees him, but of course tends to fail at it miserably. Phoenix is actually a very emotional, emotive kid. And he has trouble controlling his fire-based powers, which cause him to heat up and even burn the space around him when he gets too emotionally intense (EX: anger, panic, excitement).
