charlie: kind of a bland protagonist, she has a decent design, good voice acting, and she's the first gay character I've seen that doesn't shove it in your face, when I first watched hazbin hotel I didn't even realize she and vaggie were in a relationship, I originally thought they were just friends, on the one hand some clarity would have been nice, but on the other hand I appreciate subtlety, maybe if it was like one kiss, or one of them calling the other "honey" or something, would have been fine
vaggie: I have nothing to say about vaggie as a character, however I want to talk about something that kind of bugs me, one of her eyes had a red X over it...but why does the X appear over her hair? it looks like such a complex and unneeded detail, I bet the animators were super pissed off trying to animate vaggie with this small detail
angel dust: he's funny, and I like the depth added to him in addict, that's it
allistor: probably my favorite of the hazbins, I appreciate his fast paced witty dialogue, radio sound effects, and interesting design
niffty/husk: I have the same thing to say about both, they were unnecessary for the pilot, they were introduced so late in the episode and didn't get much screen time making it so that I didn't care about what they had to say,. this wouldn't be an issue if they were at least funny but they don't get a lot of laughs, leading to them being very forgettible. hell I forgot niffty's name for like a year and originally called her mitzi in my hazbin hotel special. I think it would have been smarter if they were introduced at the beginning of the first episode so we can get to know them better.
blitzo: he is my favorite of the HB characters, he's the funniest character in both cartoons, he has the best line delivery, and I always smile when he's on screen
moxie: he's...pretty boring not gonna lie
millie: she would be my favorite character in HB if it weren't for one thing...her new voice. I don't know why but the voice actor from the pilot was replaced with someone else for all future episodes. in the pilot she had an occasional southern drawl but still succeeded in sounding cute and likeable. the new voice is annoying as sin she went from charming and cute to YEEHAW I WANNA FUCK MY BROTHER. point is I liked the southern accent when it was subtle
loona: oh boy this is going to be the most controversial one here. loona is pointless, I'm sorry I had to say it, she's barely been in the last two episodes and her role of "edgy teenager" is filled out much better by octavia, I'm way more invested in her struggle and actually understand why she is the way she is. loona just comes off as an unlikeable asshole, which would be fine if blitzo didn't fill that role WAY better. loona just seems like a pointless, unlikable, barely funny character that was only thrown in for furry bait
stolas: I'm mixed on stolas, he's hilarious and I like his line delivery, and I pray to whatever is in the sky that we can get an episode that is just him and blitzo (seriously those two would be comedy gold). but my issue with him came in the new episode. in loo loo land, they try and make him a sympathetic character when he.... cheated on his wife.... with a man, and worst of all he never even has remorse for his wife, during the scene in the fun house he never even implies that he loves his wife and when octavia said "are you going to run off with him" I believed her, my point is keep stolas as a comedic character, he hasn't done enough to earn my sympathy
octavia: I don't know if she's going to have a big role in may episodes but I think she is worth addressing, she's one of my favorites in that I fully believe her struggle, she's only been in one episode yet I already have an emotional connection, she watched someone she loved and respected become a selfish, horney, homewrecking asshole. and like I said in the loona segment she's a far better "edgy teenager" hell she and blitzo only had one line together yet I feel like they're more compatible than blitzo and loona (compatible as in friends not what you pervs are thinking)
