Well this is it.
I can't believe I'm finally making this post, but I think it's time for me to move on.
I had a reality check this week, and realised that I need to grow up a bit and put my education and career first.
I've been in this community for around 4 years now, and I've met some absolutely wonderful and crazily talented people. Growing alongside them has been such a fun time, and I really hope they feel the same way.
It really has been a pleasure. Yet, with the good, comes the bad. Working on Undertale stuff for so long really put me in a creative lock, where I would try to make something original, only to realise I've drawn the exact same drawing of Sans or Papyrus that I would normally do.
And while I have slowly started trying more and more unique stuff, it just isn't gonna stick if I need to be going back to work on fangames.
That's why I need to start focusing on other things, as I move into my final year of college and thinking about my professional portfolio and that sort of thing.
So what does the "sort of" part mean, you might be thinking?
Well for the most part, yes, I am quitting the UTC. I've left most of the teams I was part of and cancelled all the games I owned. However, there's 2 projects that I decided to stay back to finish. (Mainly since there isn't much left for me to do on them and they aren't as heavy to work on.)
Those being:
QUIETUS:
https://gamejolt.com/games/quietus/890076
And...
DUSTSWAP: Spores:
https://gamejolt.com/games/SporesDustswap/996628
(I'm mostly just a writer for this, but I'll do some concept art here and there.)
But besides that, I'm pretty much done with making Undertale content.
I also won't be posting here that often anymore, but you can find me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elicitfunk/profilecard/?igsh=MnZoMnRuYzVienox
And Artstation: (I'll update this once I've finished sorting it out + make a separate post announcing it)
With that being said...
It's been such an enjoyable experience being part of such a large community, coming together to make some incredible things.
I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who believed in me, I genuinely wouldn't have made it this far without every single one of you, and I do mean that.
I hope you guys enjoy the new shift in content from me.
Thank you so much fellas,
Funk.
