So I recently played the demo for Suicide Mouse Overdose and I can safely say that I will never be the same again. I thought we were long overdue for a review on this, so let’s just jump right in, huh?
Cutscene was too long and I was impatient. Skipped.
Number 1:
It looked like it was just a remake of Happy Mouse, but with extra broken collision, poorly coded backgrounds and all sorts of junk, but then the game glitched out and I got trapped, then Minnie started chasing me through the level and I died. How am I supposed to play this game when the collision is broken, and Minnie is chasing me? After I died to Minnie 5 times, I called it quits. Game looked good and promising, half the time, I couldn’t jump over obstacles when they were right in front of me, and it was kind of empty. 8/10.
Number 2:
This looked like a remake of prototype SMR2, but then Donald came up to Daisy, crap happened, and when I died as Daisy multiple times, I threw in the towel. Game looked good, had good coding, and was brutally difficult. 6/10. Moving on to the final game I could stomach,
Number 3:
I can’t pinpoint the exactly what this was remade from, but it felt like a mix between SMR (killing others), Suicide Mouse: Realistic Edition (with the buildings looking realistic), Ransomware games (with the Russian text), and the dreams of a serial killer (overall feeling of it). I don’t know why, maybe because of the buildings, or random Russian text, or Mickey himself, or something else, but it all felt so surreal, as if I shouldn’t be playing this game, or as if something was watching me while I played, it all felt so dreamlike and cerebral. 10/10, I killed 2 people before I decided to shut it off from sheer terror.
In terms of which is better in everyone else’s eyes? Probably Number 3. In terms of my personal favorite? Number 1, mainly because it was what got me into Suicide Mouse in the first place (and subsequently got me terrified of Suicide Mouse, too.) Great game, love to see where it’s going.
