Neran is a charming guy. He is well known by his family and friends as a charismatic, confident, battle smart, considerate, and honest guy. His entire personality had been guided by the morals of Sonic the Hedgehog, his favorite character in all of media. Even with such an idol, he doesn't shape his entire personality based on him. He simply abides by the philosophy Sonic concentrates and adapts it to his daily life, influencing his actions and mindset.

Neran is a very capable person, socially and in combat. Because of his social skills, he can manage to befriend people easier than typical people, even garnering his own friend group consisting of over 7 members, counting himself in. His fighting style as well proves to be quite advanced when put to practice. Neran had evolved his fighting style to better adjust his bionic right arm's capabilities as well as his naturally learned moves. Due to being a melee fighter, his style is consistently changing to best apply to foes after every confrontation he gets himself in. Because of his expertise in fighting, he has established himself to be reliable to be capable of fending for himself.

Even with Neran having a healthy social life with his family and friends as well as his personal achievements, with him genuinely having strong bonds and dynamics with a good amount of people to reach his goals, his journey to reach that point of his life took a lot of struggle, internal conflict, and self discovery.

Neran had lived most of his youth without his parents alongside his siblings. Due to him lacking the parental figures that he needed to guide him through his life, his older sister Jenna filled in that role for not just him, but his other siblings too. For long dreadful years of having to fend for themselves, they withstood a strong will through their years of being alone with nothing but themselves, occasionally earning the help of strangers along the way.

Through their travels alone, Neran wouldn't start off with his ability of Super Speed until he was around 12-years old. The day Neran had discovered his hidden ability, he and his siblings were being chased down by the government agency officials, catching up to them on vehicles while they tried to make a run for it and hoped they could lose them. However, that hope would falter as their journey ended there and then. As the moment seemed to grow dire and dire, Neran's feet began to slip and accelerate as his emotions began to swirl at the situation. He could barely control his legs as they sped up, struggling with balancing himself by trying to avoid tripping, slipping, and falling over, until he eventually managed to keep control over sheer will power. He began to speed up slowly but surely, but within him, he felt his body tensing up. Almost like it was revving up for a big boost in speed to be released at any given moment. Knowing that something was bound to happen, he would have his siblings get a hold of him. Somehow in his mind, he knew he was about to do something he never knew he had in him, but at the same time he wouldn't know when it would happen. All he knew at that very moment was that he needed a miracle to happen. For him and his family to escape to safety, to keep fighting on another day. In the tightest gap between them and being captured, Neran triggered his latent power. His legs began to speed up to that of a sports car. His legs became a big blur, with them making the shape of an 8, blazing far ahead of the officials, losing them in the dust and straight ahead to freedom once again.

After escaping to safety, ensuring that they were literally miles away from where they were previously, everyone including Neran were at awe at the sudden revelation. Neran had now been transitioned to being a Gifted alongside his little brother. In the mind of Jenna, she figured it to be more of a burden of awakening while they're subject to capture. But in the eyes of Neran, they would only provide as a tool to make escape being captured easier for them. His speed would certainly prove to be useful for them after that day. Neran would practice handling it for better access of utilizing it at will.

Neran's Super Speed ability definitely came to the benefit of the family, with it being used as a final resort when all else goes to fail. But they did not get the chance to use this power, some others managed to manipulate Neran's impressionable age to do other acts other than good, driving him off the path of what Sonic would and wouldn't do.

At the age of 14, Neran would meet his (now former) friends Chris, Tonia, and Terry. They were Neran's "first friends," as he accidentally stumbled across them in an alleyway just casually hanging out, minding their own business. Their first impressions landed right to Neran, as they didn't seem all that kind of bad people. He would begin to spend time with them as he and his family managed to score a temporary quarters to sleep in for free with decent conditions. As more time passed with Neran spending with his friends, he grew a better sense of trust between him and them. He would learn that they were Gifted as well, which would lead to him to naturally share his ability as well. After demonstration of what he is capable of, he caught the interest of Terry, who was essentially the group leader of Chris and Tonia. As soon as he learned about Neran's power, his hidden goal began to boil in his mind. He wanted to use Neran for a plot he had developed for a while now.

Now every time Neran met with them, they would initiate plans to go against the government officials that lingered in their town. At first, Neran questioned the motives behind doing acts directly against them, to which Terry responded by questioning his experiences with the government the past few years. How they become a corrupted power that grew to fear people with powers and set out to erase them. With Neran's family being one of their targets. Neran's recollection of the bad events that led up to his current position of his life along with his siblings had begun to reveal itself to Terry, managing to use Neran's past and manipulate him through his emotions and pain to drive him to his hand as a means to further continue their operations. Terry had successfully convinced Neran that by helping him and his cause, he'd be helping his family and get revenge against the people that put them in harm's way.

Weeks went by as these operations run by these 4 young teens began to make moves to sabotage the resources of the officials that were present in their city. They cut off supplies, communications, and even injured men in the process. This was Terry's objective, to slowly get rid of their resources until they are forced to flee from the city and leave their home alone from their control. But in the process of this, Terry had told Neran to never speak of these incidents to anyone, especially his family. This would take a toll on Neran mentally and emotionally, as he was meant to keep secrets away from his siblings, and his drive rooting from his emotions to fuel this false sense of justice Terry planted into Neran slowly began to suck his expressionism away, slowly changing Neran for the worse.

As more and more of these incidents came to occur, more of Neran began to change ... from his speech, to his emotions, to his behavior. These gradual signs that Neran displayed wouldn't help his as it didn't take long until Jenna reached suspicion. The radical changes Neran had garnered from a short amount of time scared Jenna that maybe she was doing something wrong for him, and that might catch on to her other siblings. She decided to investigate Neran's activities he does through the days to see how these changes fareed outside of her line of sight.

She followed Neran after he left their quarters as there was a planned meetup at noon, to which she tailed him without him knowing. As he approached the meeting location, Jenna would finally see Neran's friends. Previously, Neran told her about him meeting 3 new people he considered his friends, at first she was proud to this outcome but she second handedly began to question why exactly would something like this still lead for Neran to be the way he is. Soon enough her questions have been answered. She overheard their conversation for another operation that involved attacking the officials head on. The more Jenna heard the details of the operation, the more she began to understand. Neran had been keeping a secret he knew would make her furious, and that would happen to be the case.

As they disbanded after their meeting, Neran would begin to return the direction he came from. But in an instanr turn of events, Jenna stood before him. Neran froze at the sight of Jenna standing in the same place immediately after having spoken with his friends over an operation that involved fighting an unnecessary battle. With Jenna being there at the moment after that talk, he could only believe that she heard everything.

Jenna interrogated Neran in pure anger about the past couple of weeks since they first stayed in the city they were in, to which Neran would immediately give in to her questions, as he knew he couldn't hide it further. He told her about his friends, about the operations, about his reasons to why he did all of these things. As the more information Jenna learned from Neran, the more her frustration grew towards her brother. Before Neran could finish justifying himself for his decisions, Jenna began to cry in desperation to make Neran wake up from this made up sense of justice and need for revenge. She told him of the consequences of messing with a powerful enemy, how he'll only put not only himself but her and their brother and sister in danger as well. All for a sense of justice that Neran felt was adequate for him to continue living. She begged Neran to rethink their entire situation, to have him question whether fighting an endless battle is worth the wellbeing of his little brother and sister.

Neran began to beg for forgiveness from Jenna. He truly never wanted the worst to come from all of the things he was helping to do, all for a selfish cause from his friends. Jenna would console him by telling him that his friends shouldn't have pressured him and even entirely redirecting his frustration into a source of motivation that would only bring misfortune and potential fatality. She told him, "friends don't make friends do things they don't wanna do, regardless of whether they believe that to be for the greater good. If it goes through your sense of judgement, then roll with what you know. Not what they say. Think about what Sonic would do, he'd want to ensure his friends are okay before risking everything for only eventual loss."

After that day, Neran would abandon everything he had built up with his (now called) "old bad friends," and focused on one thing. Ensuring that his siblings could be okay. To fight only for their sake, and not just his own. As well as to use his ability when he truly needs its power. They left the city as the person that allowed the 4 of them a place the sleep could no longer afford to maintain it for much longer. Neran would abandon his past as he grew up, he converted his experience of recklessness into wisdom for himself to never prematurely get into a fight he knows he cannot win. That the second best option can sometimes have the most optimal outcome possible.
