Hey guys, gals and whichever you like to be addressed as.
I'm making this new devlog as a pinned log for The Lost Ones: Treasure Island page to give more insight on the progress as it has been some time since the Night 2 demo had dropped, and discussing the changes we are implementing since the demo launched.
New Fresh Renders: The main piece of feedback from the demo is that the rooms were too dull and too dark, along with some textures looking too bland as well. So since then the game has been going through some changes in the renders to make it stand out more! Some last minute changes may still occur before the full release of the game.
New GUI: The design we wanted to go for is the early-mid 2000's kind of style for the laptop GUI.
But as well with this GUI ended up being a bit criticized in the demo of the game as well, so we had help from the team in designing a more fresher take on the GUI to make it a lil closer to what we aimed for.
A slightly new addition, nothing big but the game now has a little zoom in animation for the laptop when using it, this is to replace the whole "camera flip up flip down" animations that fangames tend to have, but still having something rather close.
I would supply a gif but I'm too lazy.
(Another) Hourglass Redesign: So I'm sure a lot of you remember this image we posted a good while ago teasing Hourglass' redesign.
Well it was only recently our talented artist Bella had decided to draw up another Hourglass redesign, and with the vote from the team we went and modelled the next Hourglass design, who had appeared in the most recent teaser that was put up for this game.
The Pirate Caverns: Now this is the part on why this game is taking as long as it is. The Pirate Caverns. Our aim for this segment of the game is heavily ambitious, that we're aiming on making this caverns not really any like other caverns in fnati games.
I already confirmed this in my Discord Server but the gameplay for the pirate caverns are planned to be a proper 360 degree point and click segment of the game, so this is having me to fill as much as I can when it comes to the rooms so they don't feel too empty.
The caverns theme itself has changed as well, as from mentioned in a LOG devlog , the caverns have been turned into a proper ride attraction (like the haunted mansion), with the rooms you go through being where tourists would queue for the ride, with left over tickets and merchandise on the floor from the....events... that occurred.
I aim on this game to be the best fnati experience compared to all the other FNaTI based games that I have made, not others, by me, and of course the team. After The Lost Ones is over is when I aim on retiring from directing games, you may still see my name pop up here and there when I help people with their games, but I won't be releasing any games under my name, specifically fangames.
