New Power-ups and Font

Two new power-ups have been added to Toro’s Adventure! The green bedazzled one is a score bonus while the fiery orange releases a spray of lasers. Side note: the laser-spraying power-up took the radius attack’s place due to coding complications.

I created a new pixel font called Blockade using FontStruct. The letters are readable but slightly disfigured in Game Maker, so I’ll probably remake it some time. You can get the current font here: https://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/1385116/blockade-4

Using Blockade, I wrote the instructions and credits on the title screen. The title screen layout isn’t final yet, though; I plan to make the text come from a pop-up box or drop down to make space for a coin amount display and mini-shop. The one-stop-shop-styled title screen will render a shop and traditional score and replay screen obsolete by combining everything.

I have yet to add coins, accessories and a high score. (Feel free to comment hat and accessory suggestions!)

A lot of people asked me how or when they can play Toro’s Adventure. I’ll give a limited amount of play testers early access keys to the game once it gets large enough to require testers.

Thank you everyone for following, liking and commenting! I appreciate your support!
