63% funded
New Union leader tier
We’re on the Steam store!
Ira in the press!
We’re into our last two weeks here on Kickstarter, and at 63% funded, we’re making our final push. Our momentum is still up and we’re hopeful about the future of Ira. We’ve been getting press attention over the past week, and the let’s plays of our demo/prologue are still coming in (we’ve counted well over 40!). Every mention of Ira goes a long way in getting our name out there, so share Ira with your community!
We were Greenlit on Steam last week and we’re just opening our Steam store page! From there we will be able to distribute Ira upon release, but for now we’re working on getting making our prologue/demo available there for free.
We’ve opened up a new backing tier, “Leader of men, defender of the weak, patron to the poor.” With it, your likeness and name will be cast as a leader within the Martian Mining Union, showing up in posters, pamphlets and all manner of in game propaganda. Don’t miss out on your chance to be immortalized in Ira as one of the few who stood up to corporate rule; there’s a limit of five available!

Lore: Full-timers

For over ten years seasonal miners have made the journey from Earth to Mars, struggling against harsh conditions and miserable conditions. Dangerous, back breaking work with little pay, the only consolation has been its temporary nature; the fact that at the end of their stints they can use a portion of their meager wages to buy a return flight to Earth. But of those who make the interplanetary journey, not all come back, and millions of miles from Earth a plight festers in the red sand. When a miner is injured or they fall into a bad way, wages stop coming in and there is no way to pay for a ticket home. These miners can’t pay down their debts and can’t work enough to make up the disparity, so they find themselves in an impossible situation. These trapped miners, indentured indefinitely to Intele Co, are collectively known as the full-timers. They are the lowest of the low, surviving in slums off of company scrip, a position from which there is no return. As their numbers grow even the Union can do little to help, and their suffering goes unseen. Full-timers are truly trapped on the bottom of society’s declining standards, and they stand as a reminder of how far even the lowly seasonal miners can fall.
