What’s up guys! This time it came back who never disappeared, yes, I, Ricardo Luiz the programmer of the team.
The Pippin Games team decided to use the “Devlogs” to keep those interested always updated with the news of the game.
But without curling let’s go the main changes of the last weeks of development.
KDD |
KDD (Kawaii Deathu Desu) is a game where supernatural beings incarnate in Japanese Idols and enter a kind of competition to reach the position of sovereign of the underworld, for they must collect human souls, but it can not be any soul, but souls of people extremely faithful to it. Come with this fun and unusual dispute.
New UI |
Well, in these last playtest, both on the Campus Party here and on StartupDay Sebrae, both in Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, we noticed the difficulty of the players in using the KDD UI.
So we decided to rebuild it. Made by our more our member Thomas Lessa (Artist and Animator 2d), here it is:
We decided to adopt a cleaner style by removing the buttons and removing some not-so-needed features.
Now our beloved Idol upgrades will be automatic, always at the end of the game (we’ll talk more about it in Future Devlogs).
The important thing is, “The simpler it seems the better.”
Well, continuing we have some more functionality in the UI, now regarding the scroll bar of the KDD shows.
The decision to adopt this method of phase selection came through advice from other gamedevs, right here from our state.
For those who are curious, here in Rio Grande do Norte, we have a game association called PONG, where every month we have a meeting to exchange ideas and give feedback on the development of games. “Really cool. “
And last, but not least, changes in the UI during the actual games (idols shows).
The focus of KDD is to be a mobile game. We realized that our old UI had many elements, which could distract and even disrupt the player.
We chose to use a cleaner design and focused on what really should be done in KDD: “Take Souls”.
End |
Of course we are still prototyping this interface (there is a lack of polishing and mainly animations to make it much more attractive). But you can already glimpse what it actually has to offer.
And with that, we closed our devlog, guys. To the next! Enjoy and like the Pippin Games Facebook page and follow us on Twitter. Went!!!
