[CLOSED] Undertale: FGD!SwapFell

News from the past couple of months.


Hey, guys! It's been two months since the alpha remake was released, huh?
We are already more than 700~
A little more and we will have 1000 followers~

But...
Until this moment, much of the game's life remained behind the scenes for the audience that doesn't follow the group in VK. The game went through a lot of closures, the group changed 3 times, Кsan became the head of the project and have been for 2 years, and much, much more.
I didn't want to burden everyone with these details. However, there is something I would like to tell you.
And I think I'll start with a little news...

Ahem, and so, I'll start with the fact that I again changed the style of drawing sprites in the dialog. I was inspired by drawing from the novell's "Great Trouble", "I promise" and "Stardust Kids" by HAZUKASHII TEAM. As for me, the sprite came out pretty good and I like what came out in the end.

But. There is one FAT "but". Emotions and faces of the main character. The one above below I really like. But with the others... I have big problems... I can't repeat it in pixel form without it looking crooked and creepy...

And here we smoothly move on to the topic that I have already discussed with Tim today...

I don't know if I said before that at the moment most of the work is on me(except for the music there and quite large sprites, for example, backgrounds).

And, on the one hand, cool, I can implement everything as I see it, hey!

First of all, I have little experience. I can't draw cool animations like Tim, or cool tile sets like one of our artists did but she left.

Secondly... Self-criticism. I always want to redraw what I drew.

I'll quote myself: "That is, for example, if I drew a sprite of Chara in the world - it would have already changed as much as the sprite in the dialogue

But, no, it was drawn by you and your work is valuable to me, I like your creativity, I like your sprite and I'm not going to change it

It's the same with the textures of ruins, and other things that I didn't draw"

I'm tired of writing every time that I need help. Because I don't get it. No matter how many times I wrote to the VK - help came, but immediately disappeared after a couple of moments. Tim suggested that I ask for help from a foreign audience in GameJolt... The result is the same. Most of all, I became infuriated with "I would like to help, but I can't do anything..."

If a person really wanted to help, they would start learning, as I did in my time. But no. Everyone just WANTS to, and all I get out of help is from Tim, Aram and... no one else?

Yes, many things are drawn by other people, but they are already a year old, the second is coming.

I will quote, again, myself:

"I just need a person who I will know that if I can't draw some detail-he will help and it will not be delayed for many months

I have so many ideas for the Demo and Full Game, to be honest...

But I've said it more than once... As soon as I sit down, I see that I need to draw a lot of all sorts of emotions, movements, and other things-the desire says goodbye to me~~ """" and I again throw SwapFell for a long time, realizing that if I open mfa-file - I will be waiting for a repeat of everything"

The most important thing is that I know that if I close the project-immediately such an asset will appear, because OH, YOU KSAN, HOW COULD YOU CLOSE THE PROJECT, BECAUSE WE ARE WAITING, AND YOU!!!

Eh... If I don't find one or two people who are really willing to help by the end of this week or next... I'll have to freeze the project again... I'm tired of this... I feel like the project is just for me and a couple of other people... Are there no more than 700 people who can draw...?

Maybe you think our style is heavy? Well, I don't know, Tim's style seems quite simple to me, because even I, as a super-novice animator, manage and make progress...

And ... I'm back in the first room... First I stopped at 8, then at 4, and now I can't even advance 1...

I really have a lot of plans. I already imagine that the plot may surprise you a little, but... it seems to me more and more that the project will not see the light of day, having remained at this beginning.
