Nezzon Development - Guns


Nezzon will feature a large assortment of guns. These may be basic guns such as shotguns and machineguns to the more unique ones such as laserbeams and pinball launchers. How do you aquire these guns? Well on each floor there will be one item. All items look exactly the same, so you have no idea what you’ll get when you pick it up, as they are all randomized. Now this could be exploited by getting a really good gun at the start and never changing. But you don’t want to do that because getting new guns also gets you +1 base damage, and it’s the only way that’s aquired.

I also want to make the infamously bad guns from neon blitz better. The cannon was a great example of a gun that would sound great to a newbie player. Double damge, largest bullet size, infinite range, and a badass sound when it fires. The downside is that it has the worst fire rate in the game and is the only weapon with knock-back. That makes it one of the worst guns in the game, and I want to change that (I won’t say how though… yet).

Off the top of my head, there were 12 guns in neon blitz, and I want Nezzon to have 20. Shouldn’t be too hard to think of 8 more… right?

Nojong, an arcade mashup of Tetris and Mahjong is out now!

I'm currently making a Tetris + Mahjong hybrid game called #Nojong. Match colored blocks in the field to make clears. After a number of clears, the blocks left in your hand are scored, so you want to try and keep triples and quadruples in your hand.

Wonder if anyone can guess what kinda game I'm working on right now with this GameJolt session data as the only clue. I bet someone can sleuth it out!

For some reason, it's really hard to change the alpha value of a tile layer in GameMaker. You can do this easily for sprite or instance layers, but not tile layers. So here's a video on how to easily update the alpha value of tile layers in real time.
