On October 31 1998, Nick Jr. was unexpectedly hijacked by an unknown person. Their identity hasn't been found yet and might never be. Nick Jr. was airing the episode titled "Pink" from Teletubbies when the screens had all cut to black.

The Nick Jr. logo wasn't there, presumably the hijacker's doing to avoid trademark infringement. Some red text appeared saying "Aw, are the little kids crying because they can't watch The Teletubbies anymore? How Sad! Well, it’s too late for them..

nobody cares. They shall be crying a lot when their show ends. All good things must come to an end. Nothing lasts forever. Time for them to grow up."

It then showed a distorted red face and red body of a Teletubby. Many people speculate that it is a distorted version of Po. But it remains a mystery to this day if it is or not. There was also a second distorted image of the Nick Jr. Father and Son logo, but that image has yet to be found. A voice spoke saying "Revenge for you will happen on March 17 1999. Get ready for the day to come". After the images, an echoing and slowed down version of Tinky Winky's scream could be heard...

On January 1st, 1999, Nick Jr. came back perfectly fine, as if nothing had happened. They put up a message saying,

"Dear parents of Nick Jr. viewers, We are really sorry that your children had to witness the hijacking that happened last year. We are officially taking stronger measures to ensure that another one of these hijackings won't happen to Nick Jr. again. We want to keep Nick Jr. going for years to come."

After everything that happened, the hijacking was mostly forgotten. However, many people have questions about it like who the hijacker was and what their intentions were. Yet the full footage of the hijacking is still unknown and has yet to be found.
