NIRAVASI: Devlog Hiatus

Hey everyone,

I know you were all expecting another new Devlog for NIRAVASI to come out today, mainly to learn about the newest stuff that's going to be coming to the game. However, I'm afraid that at the moment, there's really not a lot of stuff to talk about. And quite frankly, there have been a number of new developments in my life that have come out these past few weeks that I feel I should address.

The first of which is that I was recently offered a new Full-time position (not directly Game-Dev related), which will significantly halt the amount of progress I'll be able to work on NIRAVASI. This doesn't mean to say that work on the game will come to a grinding halt or be outright discontinued. It just means I won't be able to work on it as much as I did in the past. Thankfully, this new position appears to be rather generous with its workload and I'm sure with some proper time-keeping on my end, I'll be able to get back to working on MOKSHA in no time.

The second development is that I've been experiment on a new game project, which is going to be a new beast to tackle entirely. It's all still early days, but I'm currently envisioning a new Platformer title that'll play something very similar to the original Crash Bandicoot titles. And to that end, I've begun working more and more with 3D-modelling and believe I've managed to strike a really nice art style for the project. Heck, here's a rough draft I've been working on so far to give you a good example:

Lastly, the work that's still needing to be done for MOKSHA is pretty intense. Before working on the game's Secret Ending, I've been considering going back and adding/redesigning some areas for the Perfection Complex and Palace of Nira Ishan levels. There was a lot I had to cut during the game's development to meet the July deadline, and I'm eager to revisit some of these lost concepts (The Perfection Complex was going to have a section where you could see people's brains being put into the Imago robots).

So yeah, I'm really sorry that this wasn't the update that you were expecting, but I just wanted to clear the air a bit about what was going on with NIRAVASI behind-the-scenes. Following this Devlog, I'll be spending the next month just taking it easy and improving my skills in 3D development, as well as looking into other venues of production. The NIRAVASI Devlogs will return, but only when I feel like a significant amount of progress has been made with development. Until then, I'll be keeping an eye on the project overall and doing my best to fix and record any bugs/glitches that may still be present in the current build of the game.

I'll still be active on my social media pages, so feel free to give me a follow there if you're interested in what I'm working on in the next few weeks.

Kind regards,

Angus (Sangos)

Work on the revamped Perfection Complex level for NIRAVASI (Patch 1.1) is going along pretty well. As you can see from this screenshot, there's even an update to the overall level objective.

NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. NOPE. I made a mistake making this!

The stories you find in the Aruvi District are as fascinating as they are disturbing.
