NO LONGER REMAKE

This will be the new and first devlog that the page will have for the moment. I thought about resetting everything advanced on the page as well as much of the material that was going to be planned in TRTF REMAKE to be moved or removed in LEGACY.

In case you're not interested in reading too much, in short, the game will not be the same anymore, the Gamejolt page will be updated with the new designs and will have a slightly different description, the material used by other companions will be almost completely discarded with a single exception.

There will now be an official "soundtrack" for the game, as well as gameplay quite different from what was featured in the demo.


What do I mean by all this you may ask?

Because LEGACY is not a REMAKE, there is a difference between these two stages of what this game was and will be. Which implies that everything shown in REMAKE together with its demo will be radically changed or discarded. I won´t be using the old models that I made in 2020, they are outdated, I have made some new versions that fit more with the LEGACY style and theme.

The story that was previously planned has also been completely changed, it won't have much fidelity to the original material, why? Because I feel that the right direction that a recreation or reboot of the TRTF games should be taken almost as a new bet instead of sticking to the old. I'm not saying that the story of Vincent and Gron will cease to exist, the important materials and significant events are still there, but the roles of certain characters will be different as the course of the events will change completely.

LEGACY is designed so that new players who have never experienced a TRTF in their life can become familiar with the franchise and witness a story in which they do not have to move from game or way to enjoy it or to get reversed in it.

In the gameplay, the mechanics will change slightly, some characters will be quite different from how they were presented in the demo, especially regarding Sugar and Puppet.

  • The rest may still feel familiar but the approach to the game will be very different. Notice ahead of time that the game will have special events that will alter your experience throughout the nights. In addition to that there will be something called "Post-Nights" that can already be cinematic or completely optional levels to complement part of the story and have more game time.

New musical section, I have been collaborating with a friend who has already some experience in other titles that perhaps you will know, I'll not reveal his identity until the complete update of the page arrives.

  • The plan is to have themes for the main menu, custom night, extras, dynamic background music for the nights, music for each “Post-Night”, as well as music for the credits. This is just a plan and much of this musical content may not make it to the final version.

About the restarted or mostly removed content, much of it will be accessible through the extras, at least in the form of mentions and explanations of its stages of development (Scrapped Content). What is not reset will be fully reset for the purpose already mentioned above.

As a dev. Honestly, I don't like Undertale very much, since a long time ago it has stopped being a reference for me...

NEW WALL TEXTURES!

I just redid the wall textures. I did used a "generic wall-fnaf like texture" for a while, but since I realize that I didn't know who made them or where did I get them.

I decided to make my own.

Quick question.

Do you guys prefer characters that take a random time to move or a fixed one?

Like, Bonnie can move each 5 sec when the dice got right, or just move each 5 fixed. (the fixed time would change depending of AI levels)
