Nostalgia Trip! Hero's Tale


Hi, I want to cover character with this post. I guess no one really know that main protagonist was originally a man. (just static 2015 mockup)

It was really hard to come with the character, especially for me who still struggled in pixelart (its bit better now, but still difficult). So I tried a lot of characters, but I was never happy with any. I also tried a lot of combinations

None of the design above won. Some anatomy was also quite off. Todays characters aren’t perfect too. But I managed to make united style for all of them.

So how I changed male hero to female hero? It was just a trial and error method. But heroine won at the end and I kept her as main protagonist.

I had few versions of her animated. She surely had hard start. I hope you like this Nostalgia Trip! mini-serie.

About Nostalgia Trips
Nightkeep was developed since 2015, I really didn’t share more of it here on gamejolt. I think I could have done it way sooner. While game itself is postponed due indiegogo failure https://www.indiegogo.com/at/keep and I am working on small side project now, I will try to keep Nightkeep’s log alive with so called Nostalgia trips, where I’d like to cover development info that you missed.

Game is being worked on, I keep changelogs so I can track my own progress. I made core systems and now I am working on the game areas + adding missing stuff like chests, etc.
