Hey everybody!
First of all, I'd like to say, that the demo is starting to take shape.
Kind of...
I have the layout, the NPC's I'd want to include, the script, I know what cutscenes will there be, and items you'll be able to play around with. All that's left is to make them real, and by this I mean they all have to be, well... Made?... Created?... Something like that. But, as you may have seen, the progress is good.
Over the last few weeks some of the NPC's were given a body. Those, which already had one - animations. You may have seen, that Jack has finally learned how to walk and run. He even holds his hat, so the wind doesn't knock it off his head while he's running!
But you already knew Jack... You even saw his house! The NPC you may not know yet is...
*Drumroll*
Slippy!
This cute frog, introduced last weekend, will act as a Hint Master, among other things. They won't be able to save any games, however. There will be another thing for that.
More NPC's are given shape by the day, so expect to start seeing animated people. Don't worry, the only sense you need is your sight, no additional ones required.
Speaking of senses, remember when I told you I hired a composer to make some music? Piotr is very talented, and over the past few weeks he's been making drafts to get a better sense of the game's vibe. Right now I'm sitting on about 10 of them, and I have to say, they're great. Also, he started working on soud effects, like footsteps and such. What is an audio-visual experience without audio, after all?
All this said, the real work starts now. After every graphical element gets put together to create the demo's environment and Piotr composes the music to add that sweet, sweet cherry on top, I will once again be able to record some gameplay footage! And, if everything goes right, the demo will be released soon after.
Welp, that's all for today. Hope you had a good read. Keep an eye out for upcoming new stuff!
Stay Odd!
P.S. - Yes, I'm still working on the battle mechanics...
P.P.S. - No, I don't think, I'll ever be satisfied with them...
