It's simple and old fashioned, but there is something magical about the "Hammer brothers" from Super Mario Bros 3.

They still feel unpredictable and challenging in a satisfying way to this day.

The music. The levels. The boss fights. The lock-on tech... The nostalgia.

Although... I also have a soft spot for "Shadow The Hedgehog"... but its not Shadow's birthday, so...
