• Game in question
Fatal Fury 2, the obvious sequel of Fatal Fury: King of Fighters, but this version specifically is the update under the name of Fatal Fury: Special. The game not only introduces a polished gameplay, but also introduced more characters to the series that would become a staple in the franchise of both Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters.
• Story (Takes place between Fatal Fury and KOF '94)
2 years after Geese waa presumed death and the King of Fighters: South Town tournament was over, a mysterious nobleman called Wolfgang Krauser became the sponsor of a new tournament called The King of Fighters: World Wide, having competitors representing different countries.
Geese would be revealed to remain alive thanks to the plot armor secrets of a Chinese scroll in his posession: the Phoenix Scroll which allows the user to speed up their recovery rate
• Gameplay
Similar to Fatal Fury 1... with better damage rates, more accesible combos (hello Andy), more moves, the ability to freely switch between sides of the background and the addition of Desperation Moves, which allow the player/opponent to perform a strong, comeback-worthy attack when they're about to run out of health.
Ohhh boy I'm excited for FF3 since its just a HUGE step from special

• ???
This is, without a doubt, Fatal Fury: Special's greatest addition. This dream match can be achieved by beating the game without losing any rounds, and its against the one and only Ryo Sakazaki, from Art of Fighting. This is one of, if not the very first guest character appearance in fighting games ever, and the idea was so cool that if it wasn't because of this, KOF would've never become true.
Ryo has ALMOST all of his moves from Art of Fighting 1 except for the wall jump which I think is pretty self explanatory as to WHY it isn't there, the game doesn't work like that. After beating the battle, your character's ending plays normally.
