I've decided to just scrap whatever I had planned before because, honestly, I'm just not feeling like making them anymore. I really hate doing that, but I've got two new game ideas that I think you'll like, and I'd actually enjoy making them.
I've made it no secret that my game development philosophy is pretty simple: "If I don't want to make it, or if I stop enjoying it, then I'm canceling it."
Thankfully, this usually only happens with projects very early on, and I rarely announce them before that happens. While I do hate promising things like sequels only to scrap them, I honestly feel it's better to make something I truly enjoy. You'll be able to tell I had fun making it & it should turn out pretty well. If I force myself to make a game, there's a good chance it'll turn out pretty bad, and you'll definitely be able to tell I didn't really care much about it.
I'd rather disappoint you all and save everyone's time for something else, than disappoint you all with a shitty game and waste all our time.
It's just better this way. Heck, maybe those two projects I was talking about won't even see the light of day, and that's okay, because that's the whole point I'm trying to prove here.
