One of the biggest mistakes I think that Mojang ever did was that they didn't add an option to not expand the world size in world creation.
A simple world type that is the old one.
Why?
People who have worse pc's but want to play newer versions.


New world height also probably means that when your world was 64MB's for example, now its suddenly 92MB's after exploring a bit. More blocks to save and load.

Options to fix the optimizations of that:

  • make a render distance affect height more (it doesn't do that much)

  • make a new world type that is the old height

  • optimize the entire thing and add that thing games have that makes everything look worse the farther away it is
