Pacing

So, I feel like it’s a good idea to update you all on the process behind making this game.

Basically, to storyboard each day, it takes about a day and a half to three days in real life. I have to play out each of the events that happen in the day alongside the basic idea of how a conversation as a result of the choices made in that route would go. That has to be done eight times over for the neutral part of each route where you’re deciding who you want to date. Then, I need to do that for another seven days… ten times. One week afterwards for each character, alongside maybe a few extra days for specific characters and their route plans.

All in all, that process alone is going to take a while. Then, I have to make the scenes and days in Ren’Py— which, by the way, is still a program I’m learning —and put in all the dialogue, sounds, and artwork, alongside all the necessary code and choice mechanics that are necessary. To make the first day itself took five full days of work whenever I was sick and had time off from school to be able to go through with it. That, times seven, times seventy, will… uh… Well, hopefully that part will speed up once I get more time to do it and figure out the program more!

So, yeah. I apologize that I can’t make this extraordinarily quickly, but… Hell, I’m just one person. I hope you all will stay patient with me as I work through this and make one of my dreams a reality for you all. After all, this project wouldn’t be anything without you guys, lol…

Anyway, that’s a quick rundown of how the progression of this project will go. I’ll try and put out builds of smaller segments and events if I get the chance to to give you guys a taste of what I’m doing. However, I’m going to try and keep a lot of route specifics hidden to make it a surprise for people when they actually play it. I want this to be something special… and, I apologize if that takes a bit longer than I’d like, lol.

A calm and quiet day.. Made surreal by the feeling of finding an elven building in the mountains, and wondering of its purpose and story. I built this elven style house and it was my first attempt at something like this, but what do you think?

What Are You Doing In My Swamp!?

Now spruce forest monsters can vomit forest shields, but Brutal Castle will not stop!
