parasaurolophus is special cause hes the ONLY dino we have the idea on what it actually sounded like when it was alive ->


this method was through putting the skull through a ct scan, reconstructing the skull and its crest's complex tube systems then blowing air through it! produced a low frequency sound similar to a tuba

they couldve used this for communicating or alerting others of their herd/species, we have 3 documented species of parasaurolophus and their crests are all different in terms of size and shape, the complex tube systems they use to make their call were also different between all 3 meaning they did infact have different sounding calls
