Pc2 recode and precode core gameplays are fundamentally different.
The reason why i feel alot of people say recode is better is due to it having maps, models, balancing that have more development time accumulated for these features. If precode had these updated amenities, precode wouldn’t feel half baked compared to recode. As well precode was in a broken state, with features like abilities and slide that were unbalanced and broke so many monsters. Recode has the advantage of everything added being in mind from the start. If precode removed slide and permanent abilities. It would be a lot better to play.
Precode isnt flawless, it needs better balancing, features that actually fix player downtime and or make survivor more enjoyable if not doing tasks that dont detract from the monster experience. But its core gameplay lore I find more enjoyable than ive ever found recode. But thats just cuz they’re different games at the end of the day i suppose. And its okay that precodes is flawed because all games usually are, and i hoped that they would fix and build upon precode gameplay but instead they changed it entirely for precode. I dont hate precode or people who enjoy it, but you can see why i dont enjoy it myself, as its such sharp change in direction. Its just kinda upsetting that one of my favorite games got completely changed rather than fixing what already was there.
