Persistence - Friday Lookback


This Friday Lookback is a little bit later than usual, the reason is that I wanted to have the dialogue system up and running in the game before posting.

After an extra cup of coffee and bunch of trial-and-error, I finally managed to implement the basics of the dialogue system into the game. It’s nothing fancy yet, but it feels great to see it work smoothly without throwing any errors in my face. I’ll be sharing a GIF of it in action tomorrow.

Short side note before I sign off: This next Monday Lookahead will be the official “3 Year Anniversary” of when I started working on the game (according to this blog post: Old blog post ) . I’m not sure if that’s a good milestone or it just means that I’m really slow and taking too long. But this is the longest I’ve worked on any game, and the more I work on it the more excited I am for it to finally be finished.
